The Serra Do Japi is a mountain range in the state of Sao Paulo. According to Wikipedia: "The region is a rare remnant of Atlantic Forest in the state of São Paulo. The natural beauty comprised of secondary forests on soil quartz, are worthy of preservation as factors of ecological balance and climate. Registered by CONDEPHAAT , through Resolution 11 dated March 8, 1993 and declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1992." So there you go.

Lutz was a pioneer of the women's movement in Brazil and in the Pan American feminist and human rights movements. She was also a zoologist and has four species of frogs named after her. Her collections in the Museu Nacional in Rio de Janeiro were destroyed in a fire in 2018.
